Erodiade - Fame di vento 1993/2017

From "Hérodiade" by Stéphane Mallarmé

Excellent Italian choreography with Erodiade - Fame di vento by Julie Ann Anzilotti, the 1993 pièce reconstructed within the project “RIC.CI Reconstruction Italian Contemporary Choregraphy Anni ’80 ’90” created and directed by Marinella Guatterini.
Inspired by the unfinished poem Hérodiade by the French symbolist Stéphane Mallarmé, the performance is based on the figure of a Salome who is, however, mentioned as the mother, Herodias, in a mysterious synthesis, required perhaps by the need to differentiate her from the stereotypes to which she has been bound.
On stage, the bond between an expressionist dance and a recital in the sophisticated tones of the off-stage voice of Gabriella Bartolomei is joined by the hallmark of the important set design that the conceptual artist Alighiero e Boetti created for the purpose, testifying to an intensely active period of collaboration in the theatre between creators of art in various disciplines.
