How to reach us

The Opera di Firenze is in the center of Florence, near the old city walls, next to the historic Stazione Leopolda. The garden that greets visitors is Piazzale Vittorio Gui, named after the founder of the Stabile Orchestrale Fiorentina and the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, opened to the public on May 8th, 2014.

By Car

There is not a dedicated parking of the theater; you can park in the streets surrounding the theater. The Parking lot inside Piazzale Vittorio Gui is reserved for police, fire dpt and the handicapped.
– For those who come from Milan, the best way is the A1 Bologna-Florence, take the Firenze Nord exit, then follow the indications for the center of Florence, going towards Viale Fratelli Rosselli.
– For those who come from Genoa or France, take the A12 until to Viareggio, and then follow with the A11 for Florence, Firenze Nord Exit, then continue for the center of Florence, moving toward Viale Fratelli Rosselli.
– For those who come from Rome, A1 Rome-Milan Railway, Firenze Sud exit, here following the indications for the center of Florence, moving toward Viale Fratelli Rosselli.

By Train

Santa Maria Novella is the main train station of Florence, right in the historical center of Florence where the Eurostar from Milan, Turin, Venice and Rome arrive, as well as the trains from Viareggio and the coast of Versilia. From SMN you reach the theater either by feet (10-15 minutes) or by taking a taxi or by taking the tramway, getting off at the the first stop (Porta al Prato – Leopolda) which is right in front of the theater.

By Airplane

Florence’s airport, the Amerigo Vespucci, is situated 5 kilometers from historical center, it is well connected with taxis and shuttle buses to Santa Maria Novella. The taxis’ fixed fee from the airport to the historical center of Florence is approximately 20-25 €, depending on the pieces of luggage and the time. The Shuttle Bus to Santa Maria Novella is 6 € per person.
You can reach Florence landing in the airport of Pisa, which is approximately 70 km from Florence, and about an hour bus-ride to Santa Maria Novella Train Station, which costs 7 €. The price for a taxi from the airport of Pisa to Florence is approximately 100 €.
